VIA: Love & Evolution Podcast

Welcome to VIA - our cozy little corner of the world. We are Katrina Bean and Sarah Morgando, two curious, loving and open-minded individuals who speak honestly about what it means to be human. What began as a meet up for dinner to reconnect after 20+ years and both experiencing sibling loss, has transformed into the creation of something bigger. We discovered the healing benefits of deep, authentic conversations; becoming more aware of the conditions that raised us (and the mistakes we made along the way!). Our meet-ups have always been our safe space. Now, we open our judgement-free zone to share with YOU. Through authentic exchanges around awareness and self-development, we bring a humanitarian light to the key aspects of change, cycles and personal growth. Our Podcast features impactful guest stories and raw conversation. We celebrate differences, favor the bold, and show up with curiosity in a divisive world. We dare ourselves to exist fully and openly; to learn a deeper truth about the world by understanding all who live in it. We desire to end stigmas, lessen fears and empower others to live authentically and inclusively. Listen in to lower your cortisol levels and experience community healing in our modern world.

In this unique and heart-expanding episode of Via Love and Evolution, we explore the world of Equine Assisted Coaching and the wisdom of horses with Karena Hammon — a mindful nurse practitioner and transformative coach whose work bridges science, spirit, and the deep intelligence of nature.
Karena poses a powerful question: “What happens when we ask a 56-million-year-old majestic being for guidance?” The answer, she tells us, is pure love, honest truth, and profound clarity. Horses, as ancient teachers, have evolved to master connection and compassion — and they remind us that fear and separation have no place in the herd.
Through our conversation, Karena paints a vivid picture of what it’s like to experience Equine Assisted Coaching, offering one of the clearest explanations of embodiment you’ll ever hear. Horses, she explains, are natural truth detectors and gentle nervous system regulators — wise, nonjudgmental beings who help us remember the wisdom already living within us.
Tune in to discover how these incredible creatures can guide us back to presence, authenticity, and to what's at the heart of our shared evolution.

Episode 32: Honoring Life, Love, and Loss — with Carol Belmont
In this deeply moving episode of Via Love and Evolution, one of our very first guests, the wonderful and inspiring Carol Belmont, returns to share her story and raise awareness around a profoundly sensitive topic: suicide.
Before listening, we invite you to take a moment to check in with your most tender parts and offer yourself the care you may need.
Carol shares with us about the loss of her father to suicide—a story told with raw honesty, immense love, and the courage to turn pain into purpose. Just as she did in her first appearance (Episode 7, Monsters Are Everywhere), Carol shows up real and fully human, navigating the depths of grief while channeling her experience into advocacy, awareness, and compassion.
Through her story, Carol reminds us of the importance of recognizing the signs, seeking help, and nurturing safe, supportive connections. Together, we reflect on our own experiences and the shared hope that by speaking openly, we can help dissolve stigma and make conversations about mental health and suicide prevention a part of collective healing.
You are not alone. You are valued. You are loved.

Truth and Harmony

Wednesday Oct 01, 2025

Wednesday Oct 01, 2025

In episode 31 of Via Love and Evolution, Sarah and Katrina explore the beauty and complexity of holding multiple truths at once. From the everyday chaos of Sarah’s cat and dog learning to coexist, to the inner parts of ourselves that often feel in conflict, they dive into how accepting the present moment as it is can lead to balance and less suffering.
Together, they get personal and unpack stories from their own experiences. From people-pleasing to self-validation, and moving from feelings of unworthiness to a place of personal power. We discuss the importance of seeing and integrating all parts of ourselves, recognizing that suffering is the universal human experience, and understanding that those who challenge us are often catalysts for our own growth.
Sarah shares her commitment to advocating for causes she cares about and resonates with Katrina's concept of “zooming out”—seeing the bigger picture as a method to release pressure and find moments of peace amidst life’s triggers. This episode is an offering of tools and guides on to learning how to live with inner harmony, navigate triggers, and embrace the shared journey of human evolution.

Micro Macro Meta

Wednesday Sep 24, 2025

Wednesday Sep 24, 2025

In episode 30, Sarah and Katrina find their sweet spot in a conversation about what it really means to tune into the present moment. Together, they explore the micro—the small, everyday details of being human; the macro—the bigger picture of holding both crisis and bliss; and the meta—the mystery that unfolds when we zoom out and trust what we cannot see.
How do we hold both the heavy and the joyful? How do we learn to trust the mystery? And what happens when the things we’ve been conditioned to honor finally fall away? Perhaps what emerges is greater than anything we could have imagined.
This dialogue touches on establishing safety in self-connection, the faith it takes to trust yourself, and the courage to embrace what could be. We reflect on the structures, maps, and tools that guide us back to ourselves—while also recognizing when it’s time to release them. Because the true practice is knowing when to lean on what works, and when to step into the completeness that has been within you all along.

Keepin' It Real

Episode 29 – Real & Unedited This week, we did something different. In this special IRL-as-live-as-possible episode, we hit record and let it rip—no scripts, no edits, no polish. What you’ll hear today was recorded just last night, raw and in real time. Completely imperfect - and ALL OURS.
After a marathon stretch on VIA Love and Evolution, we were ready for a new challenge: to put our growth to the test, trust ourselves, and see what happens when we roll with the bumps in the road. What unfolded was a conversation filled with real-life stories, vulnerable truths, and lessons in self-validation. Along the way, we share our message to the world: imperfections are welcome, curiosity rules, and accepting what is—without shame—is a radical act of love.
Did we pull it off? You’ll have to listen in and let us know.

In this episode, we sit down with Sally Davidson—breathwork facilitator, nurse-coach, retreat leader, and fellow podcaster—whose study and practice with the breath has opened up a profound realm of healing in her life and work.
Together, we explore the incredible, transformative power of breathwork: a practice that’s both science based & magical - not to mention completely free and deeply therapeutic—especially for anxiety, healing, growth, and transformation. From calming nervous system regulation to expansive, psychedelic-like journeys, each breathwork experience is unique, meeting you exactly where you are. As Sally beautifully describes it, “It’s like going on a magic carpet ride.”
This conversation brought us into "a whole new world"—expanding our awareness of just how deep we can go when we embrace our breath as an innate tool for presence, healing, and transformation. The truth is, your breath has been with you all along—waiting to carry you home to yourself.

Episode 27 is about choosing joy on purpose. This week, Sarah and Katrina dive into the power of prioritizing joy, happiness, and those daily doses of dopamine that fuel our health and wellbeing. Sarah shares the emotional experience of welcoming a golden retriever puppy into her family—and how the presence of a dog, in their true nature, living moment to moment, offers a masterclass in joy itself.
But why is it that so many of us save our own joy for last, treating it as optional or indulgent? We explore how the materialistic, capitalistic culture we grew up in may have desensitized us—teaching us to chase joy in things, leaving us feeling like we never have or are enough.
This conversation is a reminder that joy is abundant and —it’s medicine. Joy is rebellion AND heart health. Gratitude paves the way to that freedom. And choosing joy simply for the sake of enjoyment might be the most empowering choice you’ll ever make.

Get Embodied

Thursday Aug 21, 2025

Thursday Aug 21, 2025

In this episode, we honor the miracle of our human bodies. From the quiet restoration happening in sleep, to the wisdom of somatics, to the resilience of healing after surgery—our bodies are constantly working on our behalf, often in ways we hardly notice.
Getting present with the body takes patience and practice. We aren’t superhuman—we’re simply human—and yet there is something magical that unfolds when we slow down, face our wounds, and offer ourselves love in the process of healing.
Together, we invite you into your own introspective journey: to listen for the primal intelligence within, to move in the ways your body longs to move, and to make space for whatever needs to be released or expressed. Along the way, you might just discover a deeper trust in yourself—or even become your own best friend.

Highlights Along The Way

Wednesday Aug 13, 2025

Wednesday Aug 13, 2025

In Episode 25, we're highlighting an important reminder: Some truths arrive as a whisper. Others as a jolt. In this special episode, we’ve gathered three moments from past conversations—each carrying a different kind of light for the journey.
From the raw honesty of facing self-sabotage, to the joy of wholeheartedly following your calling, to the quiet courage of healing through grief—these stories remind us that our inner voice is always there, waiting to guide us home.
First from Episode 14, we speak to the part of ourselves that clings to safety, the “survivalist protector” that can silence the heart’s call. From Episode 15, a story from our interview with Jeanette Jurado—80’s icon from dance group Exposé—Jeanette she shares how she followed the thread of joy to stay close to what she loves most. And from Episode 16, A highlighted segment of our conversation with Grief Coach Cami Thelander offers a mini-masterclass in the truth that lives within, and how to listen for it - even in the wake of life’s deepest grief.
These moments are a reminder: beneath the fear, beneath the ache, there is a message in you—rooted in love, steeped in joy. It’s always been there. Waiting for you to answer.

Wednesday Aug 06, 2025

In this episode, Sarah and Katrina sit down with Ivy Watts—a wellness advocate, mental health speaker, and former All-American student athlete—to explore her powerful journey from silent struggle to outspoken support.
Ivy opens up about the pressure of perfection she carried as a young athlete, and how losing that identity left her unmoored. Years of emotional bypassing and “just keep going” conditioning eventually gave way to a turning point: a vulnerable moment shared by a friend that cracked open Ivy’s own awareness. From there, she began therapy, started speaking honestly with her family, and began rewriting her relationship with mental health.
Today, Ivy uses her voice to reflect the truth she once needed to hear—offering connection, clarity, and hope to young athletes and anyone navigating anxiety, depression, or identity loss.
Her story is a beautiful reminder about the power of healing, and feeling seen and heard in safe spaces. Ivy’s presence is both powerful and grounding, and we’re honored to share this conversation with you.
